Sticking with Mornington given the likelihood of Rosehill being called off. Interesting distance race for the second event around the picturesque Mornington circuit. No real pace in the race, and a few interesting runners sent down from the Waller yard that catch the eye. Two runners in particular that look strong data wise in Scarlet Dream and Mohican Nights. The Hawkes stable going well at the minute, and Scarlet Dream looks very strong with the drop in grade and the claim. Mohican Nights the danger as the predicted leader, and might be a stronger horse that hasn’t fired yet. When Waller sends a few down, with a leader, there must be a plan. This guys might just be too strong out front and mightn’t be caught. Strong numbers for Gran Promenade and Masaff, but looking at Scarlet Dream and Mohican Nights.

Good Luck

RUNNER COMMENTRY

NO NAME COMMENT
1 Norway Doesn’t look like an ideal race here with the weight and second up. Probably needs a few more runs, and looks to fall away when this race gets serious.
2 Masaff Always cautious of the Waller runners hunting in packs. This guy looks to fall out the back early, but can rattle home. Just not sure about the softer pace, but a trong finish wouldn’t surprise.
3 Scarlet Dream Will Price riding very well at the moment and big drop in grade for this mare. Looks to get a good mid field sit and has a decent acceleration to get into the race when it counts. Runs well 2nd up, should be in the finish.
4 Grand Promenade This looks his trip, but might need the run first up. Looks to get out OK and be on pace, and with a strong turn of foot he should be in the finish.
5 Mohican Heights Waller import with another Waller runner in the race. Even worse, looks like he will lead. Can see him controlling the race up front, and after a few bad runs he may just be sent out for them all to catch. Value
6 Takumi Sir William riding for a decent stable, with a horse deep into his prep. Should be fit, and looks to land on the speed and get an easy circuit. Will be a big effort to hold on with a late charge.
7 Snoano What a war horse. Keep on going, but the data says this grade will be too tough for him.
