Race 8, N7 Nettuno – Won impressively fresh over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast and will strip fitter for that effort. Steps to 1200m here and will enjoy a soft run on-pace from the good inside gate. He has plenty of upside and with natural improvement here he looks one of the toughest to beat. He has the 2nd highest SFR in this race and the 10th highest SFR at the meeting. Damien Thornton is going at a 15%-win strike rate when riding in sprint races and a 14%-win strike rate when riding horses that settle on-pace. Race 9, N4 Quality Time – Knocking on the door after 3 excellent runs this time in without winning and will appreciate the rise to 2000m here. He will press forward from gate 7 and enjoy a lovely run on-pace. He has been competitive in tougher races than this in the past and no doubt will look the winner here at some stage. He has the highest SFR in this race and the 7th highest SFR at the meeting. Damien Thornton is going at a 15%-win strike rate when riding in staying races and this is also Damien Thorntons 2nd best ride at the meeting as per our SFR.
