Small field for this year’s Queen Elizabeth Stakes, but good field quality and less contenders to knock you out. This year only 30.43% of favorites at Flemington at this trip have won. Don’t always want to get a favorite beat, but really honing in on two runners here in Dr Drill and Wentworth. No real speed predicted, and if anything you could see an advantage for the horses up the front that can wait to move without pressure. Wentworth looks the leader an Lane is a huge 34.5% win and 51.7% place strike rate when leading at his trip in the Jockey Analysis Tool (JAT). He will get all the favor’s and have every chance controlling the race. Dr Drill is the other runner that really looks to take a trail off Wentwood, and has superior closing speed that can be used by Prebble. Warning obviously a chance, but the numbers don’t lie. At the odds, going with Dr Drill and Wentwood.

Good Luck

RUNNER COMMENTRY

NO NAME COMMENT
1 Warning Understandable favourite, and no question on the trip. Good to see him back at HQ, and can’t see him running badly. Others have a higher turn of foot, so he will need some pressure early. Surely in the finish.
2 Sound Probably shuffles out the back, and he ran very well at a price on Cox Plate day. Just not sure if he has the zip to go with a few of these late. But if he makes an early move, there is no reason he couldn’t ruffle some feathers.
3 Dr Drill Despite the small field, looks to mid field and do no work at all in transit. Strong turn of foot, and Prebble is 18.5% to win when mid field at this trip on the Jockey Analysis Tool (JAT). Looks the ideal run with late acceleration.
4 Lunar Flare Hard to knock winning form and she is going as well as any. Similar to Warning might just need some early pressure to catch the front runners, but expect to see her shooting it out late.
5 Wentwood Looks the leader, and Lane is a massive 34.5% win and 51.7% place strike rate when leading at his trip in the Jockey Analysis Tool (JAT). You have to respect the horses win last start in the Cup, and if he gets is all his way, they may not be able to catch him. Leaders in slow distance races.
6 Hezashocka On recent runs, he looks to be strung our early here, and might be a bit tough for him to hang in there late.
