Race 1, N1 Don Corleone – Impressive debut win stamped his credentials as an up and coming star. Rises to 1100m here but can’t see that being an issue the way he hit the line last start. Has plenty of scope to improve and in another suitable race looks hard to beat. Has the top SFR (Statfreaks Rating) in this race and James McDonald is going at an impressive 32%-win strike rate when on favourites. He is also teaming up with the Snowden yard where together they are going at a 33%-win strike rate Trainer/Jockey combo.
Race 5, N3 Gravina – Resumes here in G3 company after claiming a $175K Listed race over 1200m last prep and narrowly beaten in G3 company over 1200m also. Has had 2 lead up trials so should be ready to go fresh and has performed well first up in the past only missing a place twice on six occasions. This is James McDonalds 2nd best ride of the day as per our SFR outside of Anamoe who is his best. He is also going at high 30%-win strike rate when on horses that settle on pace and has a 24%-win strike rate in sprint races.
